A Letter From Our Executive Director, Becca Vaclavik
Dear friends,
If you’ve been tuned in to the local news, you know that Greeley is undergoing major changes. And if you’re like me, you’ve been trying to figure out how your interests fit into the bigger picture of a growing Greeley. The conclusion I’ve come to? If you want to invest in the long-term health of our city, invest in the arts.
According to research from Americans for the Arts, creative work supports education, wellness, and belonging:
Students with an arts-rich education carry higher GPAs, score better on reading and math tests, and have lower dropout rates.
Art therapy offers promising wellness outcomes, like reduced cortisol levels after art-making.
A high concentration of the arts in a city leads to lower poverty rates and higher civic engagement.
This is the future I want for Greeley. The arts take a city — houses, roads, retail — and make it a community where everyone can thrive.
Inside the Greeley Creative District, we’re doing our part to support creative expression for all our benefit. Our plans for 2026 include opening a brand-new Creative Arts Center to expand our events and programming. But as a nonprofit organization, we need your help to do it.
Your monthly gift to the Greeley Creative District supports affordable art classes for the public, the promotion of local businesses, and free community events downtown.
From now until December 9, when you set up a recurring donation online, the Colorado Gives Foundation will match your first gift up to $100. Plus, you’ll help us unlock up to $1M in additional Colorado Gives incentives! Don’t delay — your gifts keep our lights on, powering our work so that we can spotlight others.
See you at the Center,
Executive Director
