Local Business Spotlight: Boomer House
What is Greeley Game Night?
Boomer House owners Lane and Amy have been hosting board game events nearly every week since 2011.
“We love to connect people with each other through gaming! Our game nights are fun and friendly for first-timers and casual gamers, but also a great place for the heavy cardboard.”
Originally Lane and Amy hosted Greeley Game Night in their home inviting neighbors and friends. However in 2016 they decided to move the play to a public setting so that the gathering could be more accessible to a larger audience. They hosted Greeley Game Night on Saturdays, at local businesses like Crabtree Brewing, Cranford’s Tea Tavern and Broken Plow Brewery, making it easier for newcomers to join. After a short stint of socially distanced gaming on Zoom due to the pandemic, Amy decided to formally retire from her medical practice in order to further realize her vision for Greeley Game Night by giving it a permanent home at Boomer House.

History of the Boomer House
Built in 1895, the house was originally owned by William M. Boomer, one of the pioneers of Greeley. Boomer worked as a barber on Main Street (now 8th Street), served on the City Council for several terms, organized Greeley’s first fire department and was elected mayor in the early 1890’s. More information on the history and architecture of the building can be found here.
