Local Nonprofit Spotlight: Zoë's Café & Events Center

In Greek the word zoë means life.

Since opening their doors in 2009, Zoë's Café & Events Center has sought to foster life–to create space for people to authentically connect and to draw new life to a downtown far from the westward expansion transforming Greeley.

Revitalization is a fitting mission to inhabit Zoë's historic building which has experienced its own renaissance over the years. Before becoming a cafe and events center, the building has been a bar, nightclub and a car dealership (which is where Zoë's “Belair” theater gets its name). Since its most recent renovation in 2008, the building has been home to a few different church services as well as many private and public events.

Missional At Heart

While Zoë's loves hosting weddings and celebrations of all kinds, the organization remains missional at heart from the ethically and relationally sourced coffee that they serve to the many nonprofits and community events that they support. On the wall just across from the bar they spotlight Youth For ChristWeld Food BankFinally Home and The Avery Center providing information about these organizations and how to get involved. Likewise, their For the City Network offers a few permanent office spaces to remote workers associated with nonprofits seeking to connect in our area. Centered on the themes of beauty and justice, Zoë's is passionate about engaging the community. “We love the arts! So, there is an emphasis on supporting local artists and musicians through our art gallery and live music venue.” With a mission so in step with our own, Zoë's Cafe was an ideal place for The Greeley Creative District board to convene for our meeting this month.

A Great Place to Work & Connect

As a nonprofit itself, Zoë's Café is an extension of Christ Community Church and is staffed largely by volunteers in order to offer accessible hours to keep their doors open to patrons who need somewhere to work or gather. With delicious coffee, tea, baked goods, small bites and an inviting, spacious atmosphere, Zoë's is a great place to study, meet with colleagues or hunker down for a long day of focused work.

To see the café’s hours, menu and learn more, visit Zoë's website. Or if you would like information regarding renting space at Zoë's please contact their events team: events@cccgreeley.org

They hope you will swing by for a cuppa and some connection sometime soon!
