Crosswalk Dance at the District 6 Art Walk

Hundreds of people spent their Friday evening enjoying more than 900 works of art created by students and on display at the District 6 Art Walk. Anyone who walked (or drove) near the intersection of 8th Avenue and 9th Street got some extra fun at a Crosswalk Dance in Downtown Greeley. The group on dancers choreographed moves to Walk The Moon’s “Shut Up And Dance,” adding more participants as the night rolled on and entertaining passersby.

What is a crosswalk dance? Crews installed “Dance” signs in place of “Walk” signs at an intersection and hook up a sound system to play music as pedestrians cross. Then add some dancers and it turns crossing the street into a dance party.

The Greeley Creative District is proud to be a part of showing of creativity like this. Thanks to the City of Greeley crews who set up the signs and music, all of the dancers, and the participants joined in on the fun.
