How to help Creatives during the Holidays!   from Pam Bricker

As I contemplated the gift giving for my family and friends this year, I decided to make a deliberate choice to purchase artwork from the many creatives in our community. I enjoyed a wonderful day of shopping on Small Business Saturday, November 27th.  I started my quest at Margie’s Java Joint on 16th Street and was delighted to find unique and interesting gifts from an array of area artists.  How fun it was to sip a cup of coffee and choose some fine items (as well as devour a delicious sandwich!)

Next stop-  right next door at the Madison & Main Gallery!  Oh my-  so many choices.  This long established gallery was full of Christmas ornaments, jewelry, pottery, fiber art, and so much more.  I added several more perfect gifts.

Of course, an annual favorite is the Indie Arts Holiday Market at the Atlas/John Galt location.  I found incredible gifts—including prints from Betony Coons and Armando Silva and a beautiful pottery piece from Emily Nelson.  She was so happy with my purchase that she even took my picture.

Please think about our local creatives this season (there are so many more galleries) and give the unique gift that your friends and family will enjoy. To find those shops click here:  https://www.greeleydowntown.com/business-directory/
