Desk Chair Workspace is excited to announce an opportunity for a local artist to create a contemporary art piece that will be displayed on fabricated metal panels atop the Desk Chair rooftop, covering the AC units. This project aims to blend functionality with artistic expression, transforming industrial elements into visually engaging installations.

Project Details

Large Unit: 4-8'x2' panels (mild steel, primed & ready for painting)
Small Unit: 3-8'x2' panels (mild steel, primed & ready for painting)
Budget: $750–$1,000 (inclusive of artist fee, supplies & any additional costs)
Deadline for Completion: October 1, 2025

Artistic Vision

Desk Chair Workspace seeks a contemporary piece that is:

Sophisticated enough to serve as a backdrop for events like weddings.
Visually compelling to distract from the functional purpose of covering AC units.
Weather-resistant (utilizing industrial-grade enamel, acrylics formulated for metal or automotive-grade paints) and protected with clear, UV-resistant sealant or varnish to prevent fading and wear.

Submission Requirements

Interested artists must submit the following:

Proposed Drawing: A sketch or digital rendering of the intended design
Supply List & Cost Estimate: Breakdown of materials and estimated costs
Portfolio: Images or links to prior work demonstrating relevant experience

Selection Process

Submissions will be reviewed based on creativity, feasibility and alignment with the project’s vision. The selected artist will be notified by August 29, 2025.
