NOW Hiring: K-8 Arts Camp Assistants (Students Eligible)

The Greeley Creative District is seeking passionate assistants to help lead engaging, multidisciplinary summer arts camps at the Greeley Creative Arts Center. This is a unique opportunity for aspiring educators who enjoy creative freedom and working with youth across a range of artistic disciplines.

Two assistant teachers will aid the lead teacher during daily sessions over two four-week camps, introducing students to a variety of art forms, which may include visual, performing, and literary arts. Teachers will design and implement their own curriculum, creating a dynamic and inspiring creative experience for students.

  • Position Type: Temporary / Summer Seasonal Contract

  • Location: Greeley Creative Arts Center, 702 13th Street, Greeley, Colorado

  • Compensation: $20/hour

Note: There are two assistant teacher positions available. Assistant teachers will work both camp sessions, with all age groups. This opportunity is designed for aspiring educators, college students, or individuals currently pursuing a teaching credential who are passionate about the arts and working with youth. Schedule

  • Camp Duration: 4 weeks per session

    • Session One: June 8-July 3

    • Session Two: July 6-31

  • Daily Schedule: Monday-Friday

    • Grades K-3 Block: 8:30 AM – 11:30 AM

    • Teacher Break / Prep Time: 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM

    • Grades 4-8 Block: 12:30 PM – 3:30 PM

  • Additional: 1 paid week prior to camp for assisting the lead teacher in curriculum planning

Class Size & Support

  • Up to 15 students per session

  • Supported by a lead teacher, as well as a fellow assistant teacher

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Lead Teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and activities

  • Assist with classroom management and student supervision

  • Provide individualized support to students as needed

  • Help prepare, organize, and clean up materials and classroom spaces

  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and creative environment for all participants

  • Communicate effectively with the Lead Teacher and camp staff

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in education, arts, or a related field (not required to be certified)

  • Interest in working with elementary and/or middle school students

  • Passion for the arts (visual, performing, literary, or multidisciplinary)

  • Ability to collaborate and take direction from a Lead Teacher

  • Must live in or teach in Greeley, Colorado

Preferred Qualities

  • Reliable, organized, and proactive

  • Positive attitude and strong communication skills

  • Experience working with youth (camp, tutoring, classroom, or similar settings)

  • Interest in pursuing a career in education or the arts
